Significant Types of Goals -
Here is a suggestion on a few areas to consider when setting goals:
Your spiritual goals are of utmost importance. Perhaps you need to re-examine your quiet time or start one if you don’t already spend time alone with God. Plan when and where you will meet with the Lord during the week. Don’t leave it to chance. Unless you set aside time, other things will fill your schedule.
Also, another great spiritual goal is to join a small group within your church such as a prayer team, a Sunday school class, or support group that spends their time trying to find out God’s answers to ways of constantly improving the lives of others and yourself. If no small groups exist within your church, it would be a great idea to offer your time and energy to start one of importance. Always focus on helping others achieve their goals in life, and God will take care of your life goals!
Serving others is another wonderful spiritual goal that uplifts the hearts of many. Consider joining the church that you currently attend, if you have not already joined as an official church member. Investigate the church ministries your church has to offer, and join some to help out other Christians that are in need. Also reach out and help as many people as you can who don’t know the Lord yet. Start giving back to your church community along with your fellowship, and make this a year that is focused on the serving of others inside and outside your church.
For you to have significant growth as a spouse, friend, parent, boss, or employee, you must have good character goals. Ask yourself these questions on character:
1) What would I like to become?
2) What one thing would I like to see God change in me?
3) What character quality could I improve upon to make me a better spouse, parent, friend, etc.?
Here are some great character goals for myself that I would like to share:
* A husband that is worthy of honor and respect
* A father worth respecting and imitating
* A leader worth following
And why do I feel these objectives are important? That is what God has called me to be! To move myself in this direction will lead me to a deep sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. To become these things will make my time on earth worth having been here. . . . It will set a pace and direction for my children that, if followed, will ensure for them the best quality of life they can experience as well. I know why I want to achieve these goals. That motivation will help me in the choices I make and will guard me when temptation comes.
You Need to Now Take Action -
Don’t make the mistake of not getting started on your goals, because you feel sorry that you didn’t take action on this sooner. Just determine what areas of your life could use some very specific goals, and get to work on them. It is never too late to improve your situation, whether it is about finances, relationships, or health, dont waste anymore time and just take action.
Design where you want your life to be in about six months to a year from now, and then lean on the power of God to give you all the strength you need to accomplish your goals. Have a friend or your spouse keep you accountable to your goals by having them check in with you from time to time, as this will help you stay on track.
It is now time to sit down and make a plan for the days ahead, so that you will make sure to use your time efficiently. With your goals in place and your schedule laid out, you will be amazed when you find out that you are among the very few to have completed year end goals for your Christian home based business. You will also find out that you have left very little undone in your business.
